I was selected out of almost 200 applicants as one of 18 fellows where I am developing academic content (literature reviews, journal articles, presentations) investigating young Africans’ digital narratives on social media.

As part of a small cohort of students, I undertook various coursework focusing on the business and ethics of modern journalism at the City University of New York.

Communication for Social Change Awards, Australia: 2013

Conferred by the University of Queensland, Her Zimbabwe received a Special Mention for its contribution to women’s communication.

Five Colleges Women’s Research Center Fellow, USA: 2012

I was a visiting fellow at Mount Holyoke College researching digital feminism and activism.

BlogHer International Activists' Scholarship, USA: 2012

I was awarded this bloggers' scholarship to attend, and speak at, the BlogHer conference which focused on women in blogging. 

AfriComNet Award, Best Series of articles on GBV and HIV: 2007

I won the inaugural edition of this award for a series of opinion pieces I had written on trends in GBV and HIV in southern Africa.
